To soften stools, it"s crucial to maintain adequate water intake. Dehydration can lead to hard bowel movements, often due to restrictive water consumption, especially among women. Suggested daily water intake is 1.5-2 liters, preferably mineral water for its magnesium and calcium content that aid metabolism. Drinking water upon waking up is also beneficial.
