The proposed plan for a colonial union under one government for defense faced objections and controversies related to Indian business and taxation. Despite overcoming many difficulties in Congress and receiving unanimous agreement on the plan"s effectiveness in defending the colonies without relying on England"s support or taxation of Americans. However, it ultimately faced disapproval from both the assemblies and the board of trustees.
