1967年，15岁的天野喜孝即以天才之资进入了日本始祖级的动画制作公司“龙之子”，着手参与设计一系列脍炙人口的动画角色，包括《科学小飞侠》、《再造人卡辛》、《时间飞船》、《小蜜蜂》等，这个时期，日本全国的孩子们都能在电视上看到他的作品。

《科学小飞侠》（日语：科学忍者隊ガッチャマン），原作是吉田龙夫制作、鸟海尽三与陶山智负责企划，为一部科幻集团英雄动画系列，于1972年开始由富士电视台播出，全105集。2013年并推出了真人电影版本。

从2000年开始，对波普艺术形式与新材料探索的热情促使天野喜孝开始在金属铝板、透明亚克力板材上进行创作。对艺术家而言，汽车工业同步标志著当代生活世界样貌，利用最新涂层和烤漆技术，呈现出艺术家心目中的未来科幻感。而就人物形象上，从二十岁便开始画的科学小飞侠，随着时间流逝，创作者自身心境的转变与人生经验的累积，笔下角色的线条、表情和神态也发生了变化。这些英雄与梦幻人物在大尺幅铝板上，宛如从天而降的精灵，灿亮而艳丽地重生。

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman

In 1967, Yoshitaka Amano joined Japan’s pioneering animation studio Tatsunoko at the age of 15. A very young talent, he participated in the creation of a range of famous anime characters in Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, Casshan, Time Bokan, and Honeybee Hutch. For a time, kids all over Japan watched programs including his works on TV.

Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, produced by Tatsuo Yoshida, is a long animation series about a group of heroes. Starting to air in 1972 on Fuji Television Network, the show ran 105 episodes. In 2013, a movie under the same title with human actors was launched.

Starting from 2000, the passion for pop art and exploration about new materials drove Amano to create art with aluminum and acrylic sheets. He used techniques in the automobile industry, such as the latest coating and varnishing techniques, which reflect the faces of the modern era, thus creating a futuristic vibe for his works. From his 20s, he started to paint characters for Gatchaman. As time passed by and his life’s experiences accumulated, his drawing styles changed, and his characters demonstrated new features in terms of lines, expressions, and complexions. His heroes and fantasy characters appearing on large aluminum sheets are like celestials beings, sharply impressing and dazzling.
